Eugene S. - 18.09.2023 The fifth studio album by English rock band the Who. The album was an immediate success when it was released on 2 August 1971. It has since been viewed by many critics as the Who's best album and one of the greatest albums of all time. I recommend.
| | Ivica S. - 03.01.2021 Brilliant music!!! From My Generation, Substitute and on through I'm A Boy, Happy Jack, Pictures of Lily and to the sublime I Can See For Miles, where the dynamic control from all the band is something to behold, especially Keith Moon and it is his playing that for me is such a revelation in these tracks. That together with the sheer electricity and edginess of the performances. Maximum R n B indeed! Highly recommended
| | INWOO S. - 23.09.2019 One of the all-time classic hard rock album. It might be the greatest album of The Who. This version includes lots of bonus tracks.
| | Valeriy R. - 12.09.2019 A luxurious (but low priced!) expanded and remastered edition of maybe the best album (released in 1971) from The Who. A set of brilliant songs, high quality sound, and super booklet. Buy without any doubt!
| | Alexander S. - 22.08.2019 Rarely does an album turn out great from the beginning to the very end. But this is exactly the case when one amazing song replaces another. After the success of "Tommy", Pete Townshend, the main composer and author of the lyrics, planned to release another rock opera called "Lifehouse", and it was on the basis of that unfinished work that this, without exaggeration, outstanding album was recorded. Fans of the group absolutely rightly call the album “Who's Next” the best in The Who’s discography, because even despite the cult status, “Tommy” became a sensation not after the release of the album, but after the group started giving concerts in support of it, the climax of which was the famous performance at the woodstock festival.
This is the only album The Who, which took first places on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean, despite the fact that in the United States the group has always been more successful than in their native England, or, to be precise, throughout the UK. Opens the album "Baba O'Riley" - dedicated to the Eastern thinker Meher Baba, and the brilliant electronic musician Terry Riley, under whose influence Townshend was for a long time. The album closes with one of the band’s most popular songs - “Won't Get Fooled Again”. These two songs are united by the use of a synthesizer, an instrument that was looked at with great dislike at that time. But no matter what, "Won't Get Fooled Again" has become one of the rock anthems of all time. One cannot but mention the magnificent Behind Blue Eyes. That snotty crafts of Limp Bizkit, you will immediately forget. It should be clarified that Fred Durst quail only the introductory part of the original, and a more intense continuation remained, fortunately, not broken up. The only song not owned by Pete Townshend - "My Wife", composed by John Entwistle, also deserves a special place among the main hits on the album.
In general, "Who's Next" is one of the best albums of world rock, which in our time sounds overloaded with music. Masterpiece. Classic.
| | Volodymyr Z. - 19.05.2019 One of the greatest albums from WHO! Many hits in this album! Good sound!
