One of the classic albums from Tom Waits. Delivered quickly. What more can I ask for?

A very good album, the start of his experimental period. Because of this, although this is an excellent album full with dark, poetic and sometimes surreal songs, he probably perfected his craft in later albums (starting with the next one "Rain Dogs")

This phase of tom waits career has leaned towards a more harsh sounding style, with less used percussion sounds with a more often staccato delivery. There is still a taste of earlier waits sprinkled amongst. If you already like waits rasp vocal, you may well enjoy this.

The speakers pop as I gently lay the needle on the groove. A static hiss, a crack from an almost invisible amount of dust and the music begins to waft...
