This is Whitesnake's second studio album, released in 1979. David Coverdale is great. But the cover design may not be to everyone's liking. This edition has 4 bonus tracks, which is very nice.

This is my favourit album from Whitesnake. The sound is actually a mixture of blues and hard rock. This issue contains 20 page booklet with annotation from Coverdaile and photos

After the successful “Trouble”, God himself simply ordered to release something of at least the same level. I must say, it turned out even better - now the music has become more similar to what is usually meant by Whitesnake. The sound has become more dense, I don’t make sense to write about Coverdale’s vocals - he is always on top, and even more so at the beginning of his work. There are, of course, a couple of passable tracks on the album, but in general it sounds more convincing than the previous one, although the most resonant hit from it - the song “Walking in the Shadow of the Blues” to the obscene is reminiscent of Deep Purple. Also here you can find: a bold “Lovehunter” with a sonorous, albeit slightly poppy sounding bass that adds enthusiasm to the song; Also worth noting is the extremely successful end of the album - the funny “Rock'n'Roll Women” and the mini-ballad “We Wish You Well” - a sort of outro. In general, there remains a good listening experience, no wonder I always said that the album is important to start well, but more importantly to finish it well. Whitesnake is just gaining momentum - the main hits are still to come, but this album is worth listening to.

Second WSNAKE album - a great price - a great remaster - for all lovers of good HARD ROCK music

Ein Frühwerk von Whitesnake aus dem Jahr 1979 - bluesangehaucht, wie typisch für diese Whitesnakephase. Etwas für Whitesnake-Sammler. Dem Whitesnake-Gelegenheitshörer würde ich eher viele der anderen Alben empfehlen. Beste Stücke auf dieser CD: Walking In The Shadow Of The Blues; Lovehunter, Long Way From Home und We Wish You Well. Von "Walking In The Shadow Of der Blues" gibt es aber bessere Aufnahmen in Live-Versionen. Die Besonderheit an dieser CD ist das "Remastered" und die 4 Bonustracks, wobei hier nur "Aint No Love In The Heart Of The City"erwähnenswert ist, was aber eigentl. regulär auf eine andere CD gehört. Für mich insgesmt unter Mittelwert, trotzdessen, dass ich ein großer Whitesnake-Fan bin - der Bonus selbst verdientgar keinen Punkt (schwach!) Das Cover ist schön - aber dann doch lieber als LP!
