 | Beschreibung: | Deluxe two CD set. 2018 release from the hard rock veterans fronted by David Coverdale. This collection brings together unplugged and acoustic-based performances recorded over the past 20+ years, including rare and unreleased studio and live recordings, acoustic demos, concert recordings, interviews and more. Whitesnake was formed in 1978 by Coverdale, after his departure from his previous band Deep Purple. Their early material has been compared by critics to the blues rock of Deep Purple, but they slowly began moving toward a more commercially accessible rock style. By the turn of the decade, the band's commercial fortunes changed and they released a string of UK top 10 albums., Runningtime: 00:00:00, A&R: Hugh Gilmour, Artwork, Design: Hugh Gilmour, Compiled By: David Coverdale, Compiled By: Michael McIntyre, Compiled By: Tom Gordon (2), Engineer [Restoration / Assisted By], Mixed By [Assisted By], Project Manager [Coordination / Assisted By]: Jeremiah ?Luke? Alexander S. - 23.02.2020 The trouble-free formula of 1987 unexpectedly works well in combination with overturning into the "jeans" past, which is perfectly demonstrated by the opening play "Good To See You Again" and the straightforward rock and roll "Get Up", written as if no later than 1982. The surprises do not end there: although most of the new material with its straightforwardness and hit "quality" certainly goes back to "1987", the album also had a place and actually pop material (in the eighteenth sense of the term) - this is the straightforward chant track "Always & Forever" and the half ballad “When I Think Of You (Color Me Blue)”. Needless to say, which Whitesnake album without a ballad is about great feelings, but this time David Coverdale climbs into acoustic territories well mastered by the latest archived release of Unzipped (2018) - it is possible that After All became one of the best ballads written by Coverdale for his whole life and career. And it is natural that “Flesh & Blood” crowns the real hymn “Sands Of Time” - because if we do not wait for the next Whitesnake album, we will certainly remember the group that we are used to and what it should be. Namely - loud and proud. Already for the sake of this alone, the White Snake was certainly worth revving up.
| | Sergey S. - 15.05.2019 More acoustic songs by David Coverdale than you ever dreamed of it,
On the first CD - acoustic versions of the songs by Whitesnake/David Coverdale from the albums Into the Light, Forevermore and Good to Be Bad plus one new song. These songs were recorded in studio. On the second CD - two acoustic concerts by David Coverdale with Adrian Vandenberg (Tokyo, 1997) and with Doug Aldrich (NY, 2008).
In general - Whitesnake Unplugged. Just good acoustic rock album.
