"Tons Of Sobs" ist das Debütalbum der britischen Rockband Free und erschien 1969 beim renommierten Label Island als LP. Das Album besticht durch seinen rohen Blues-Rock-Sound mit der markanten Stimme von Paul Rodgers und dem gefühlvollen Gitarrenspiel von Paul Kossoff. Die Platte fängt die ungestüme Energie einer Band ein, die kurz davor steht berühmt zu werden ? Songs wie ?I?m a Mover? oder ?Worry? sind Highlights des Albums. Später feierte Free weltweite Erfolge mit Hits wie ?All Right Now?, doch schon auf diesem Erstling zeigt sich ihr außergewöhnliches Talent und Zusammenspiel. Das Label Island wurde 1959 gegründet und hat Musikgeschichte geschrieben: Es brachte Künstler wie U2, Bob Marley & The Wailers sowie Amy Winehouse groß heraus.

On the (FREE) albums personally I found that Tons of Sobs was a little heavier on the blues and Heartbreaker was the closest sounding to pre Bad Company. The other four Free albums had some classics but were a little more mellow and not quite as bluesy. Highly recommended
