Publicado originalmente en 2005 y regrabado para esta edición especial remasterizada y ampliada con nuevas versiones junto a las originales históricas; ?Le Secret? representa el nacimiento del género blackgaze: una fusión única entre el black metal atmosférico y los paisajes sonoros melódicos propios del shoegaze más evocador y nostálgico. Sus dos extensos temas sumergen al oyente en atmósferas oníricas llenas de emoción e introspección sobre sueños y trascendencia personal; este disco permite descubrir tanto el inicio como la evolución artística posterior del proyecto liderado por Neige.
Alcest fue fundado por el multiinstrumentista francés Stéphane Paut ?Neige?, considerado uno de los grandes innovadores dentro del post-black-metal internacional gracias a discos tan influyentes como ?Écailles De Lune?, ?Shelter? o ?Kodama?, todos ellos alabados mundialmente por su sensibilidad emocional e innovación estilística sin límites claros entre géneros musicales extremos y ambientes delicados o envolventes.
