Amazing Elsie Emerald is an album by Amazing Blondel, released in 2013. The album is a rock CD. -

The Island Years....AMAZING BLONDEL was formed by John Gladwin and Terry Wincott after the break up of too loud Rock band Methusala. They were joined by a talented guitarist Eddie Baird and Amazing Blondel were recommended by the members of the band Free to Island boss Chris Blackwell. After signing to Island Records and Artists, Amazing Blondel quickly produced three albums (Evensong, Fantasia Lindum, England)with the above line up and undertook a series of intensive international and national tours to promote them. With the demise of John Gladwin the band continued as a duo and released 5 other albums before being reunited once again to record their comeback album 'Restoration' in the early nineties. With it's release and a series of tours across the UK & Europe, John decided to call it a day once more and Blondel carried on as a duo. Sunshine and Showers is the first release of the band in some 10 years and is sure to be of interest to it's loyal following as well as those who search the music world for something a little different from the 'Norm'.

In fact, when John Gladwyn left, Baird & Wincott decided to call themselves Blondel; "Amazing" doesn't appear anywhere on the cover or on the CD itself. I did hesitate a lot before making the change, but I heard an interview with Eddie Baird stating that fact. Ed composed all songs, sang and played: all guitars, mandola, lead and backing vocals. Terry sang, arranged, played and programmed: drums, acoustic bass, recorder, brass & brass band, flute, accordion, B4 Hammond, piano, string combinations, percussion, backing vocals. Thanks to our guests: Darryl Ebbatson: vocals & ukulele on 'Here At Last' Claire Wincott: vocals on 'Here At Last', 'When I Get Home Tonight' and 'Next Time'. John "Rabbit" Bundrick: piano & Hammond on 'When I Get Home Tonight'. Les Wilson: bouzouki on 'Fools Gold' and 'Here At Last.
