This version of The Best Of Eva Cassidy comes as a 1xCD. - UK collection from the beloved American singer/songwriter whose music finally reached a large audience four years after her death. In the 17 years since her passing, Eva's musical gift to the world is contained in her nine album catalog. The Best of Eva Cassidy contains 19 tracks taken from those nine albums plus a belated surprise in the form of a previously unreleased version of "You Take My Breath Away," recorded shortly before Eva left US in 1996 but never heard until now. A 'demo' version of "You Take My Breath Away" concluded Eva's UK #1 album American Tune but this alternative interpretation takes the song to new emotional heights. Having dusted off and re-mastered Eva's original guitar/vocal studio recording, her former band mates Chris Biondo and Lenny Williams then augmented the production with new bass guitar, piano and string arrangements to create the definitive version of what's certain to become one of Eva's best-loved performances.6-panel digisleeve.

Although a 1993 demo version concluded 'American Time', Eva also recorded a guitat/vocal version in Chris Biondo's Glendale, MD studio, one of the several 'work in progress' tracks at the time of her passing in November 1996. Producer Chris Biondo created this previously unreleased version by augmenting Eva's original studio recording with piano and string arrangement by bandmate Lenny Williams.
