"Fireball" is a classic album by the legendary British rock band Deep Purple, released in 1971 and now available in CD format from Rhino Flashback. This record captures Deep Purple at their creative peak, blending hard rock with progressive elements and showcasing the band's signature sound. Featuring standout tracks like "Fireball," "Strange Kind of Woman," and "The Mule," this album remains a milestone in rock history. Deep Purple, formed in 1968, are pioneers of heavy metal and hard rock, known for hits such as "Smoke on the Water" and albums like "Machine Head." Their influence spans generations, earning them induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. The manufacturer Rhino Flashback specializes in reissuing iconic music releases with high-quality remastering and packaging that appeals to collectors and new listeners alike.
The second album with Gillan is the second masterpiece. However, it did not become a repetition. If “In Rock” was extremely hard (which killed us on the spot!), then “Fireball” turned out to be softer - not hard, sometimes blues and rock and roll. Such a powerful action movie as “Speed King” or “Black Night” from the previous album, there is only one on “Fireball” – this is, in fact, the title track of “Fireball”. It certainly belongs to the best and most famous songs of DEEP PURPLE. However, the rest of the songs are not worse, they're just generally not so new for that time. Of course, there are no boring or unmemorable songs here. At the heart of almost every composition is some interesting idea. “Anyone's Daughter” has a country basis, “The Mule” has an interesting percussion part and so on. One of those albums that cannot be overestimated is a classic.
