The second album with Gillan is the second masterpiece. However, it did not become a repetition. If “In Rock” was extremely hard (which killed us on the spot!), then “Fireball” turned out to be softer - not hard, sometimes blues and rock and roll. Such a powerful action movie as “Speed ​​King” or “Black Night” from the previous album, there is only one on “Fireball” – this is, in fact, the title track of “Fireball”. It certainly belongs to the best and most famous songs of DEEP PURPLE. However, the rest of the songs are not worse, they're just generally not so new for that time. Of course, there are no boring or unmemorable songs here. At the heart of almost every composition is some interesting idea. “Anyone's Daughter” has a country basis, “The Mule” has an interesting percussion part and so on. One of those albums that cannot be overestimated is a classic.
