Description:Yield is an album by Pearl Jam, released in 2000. The album is a rock CD. -
Yield is the fifth studio album by Pearl Jam, originally released in 1998. Following a short promotional tour for it's previous album, No Code (1996), Pearl Jam recorded Yield throughout 1997 at Studio Litho and Studio X in Seattle, Washington. The album was hailed as a return to the band's early, straightforward rock sound, and marked a more collaborative effort from the band. The album is Pearl Jam's last release with drummer Jack Irons, who left the band during the album's promotional tour. He was replaced with Soundgarden drummer Matt Cameron.
Released in a tri-fold Digipak with die cut cover and a 24-page booklet. Recorded and mixed at Studio Litho and Studio X (Seattle) and Southern Tracks Recording and Doppler (Atlanta). Mastered at Rondney Mills' Masterhouse. For all songs: © 1997 Write Treatage Music/Innocent Bystander/Jumpin' Cat Music/Scribing C-Ment Songs (ASCAP)/Mr. Brootz Music (BMI). © 1998 Sony Music Entertainment Inc./? 1998 Sony Music Entertainment/Manufactured by Epic. Total duration of track 13 is 7:47 min.
"Yield" is a critically acclaimed album by the legendary American rock band Pearl Jam, released in 1998. This CD showcases the band's return to a more accessible and melodic sound, blending powerful guitar riffs with introspective lyrics. Standout tracks like "Given to Fly," "Wishlist," and "Do the Evolution" highlight Pearl Jam's ability to craft anthemic yet thoughtful rock songs that resonate with listeners worldwide. The album reflects themes of self-discovery, resilience, and social commentary, making it a significant entry in their discography. Pearl Jam emerged from Seattle?s grunge scene in the early 1990s and quickly became one of the most influential bands of their generation. With iconic albums such as "Ten," "Vs.," and "Vitalogy," they have sold millions of records globally and earned multiple Grammy Awards. Known for their passionate live performances and activism, Pearl Jam continues to inspire fans across generations. Sasho K. - 16/Jul/2014 5 of 5 Stars!
After the Neilyoungish "No Code", Pearl Jam came back with "Yield", their 5th album. "Do The Evolution" is the highlight here, they made a cartoon video for it, the first video since the award winning "Jeremy" video. But there are many great songs on this one: Given To Fly, Faithfull, In Hiding etc. The design of this package is very cool, it was nominated for a grammy.

This disc can be seen as a good effort in a long way. The band, with the singer that has chrarsma, has applied a not very new to them style in the songs and their places. Very much songs are catchy and the sound is not very new. It cannot be seen as not oustanding rock, however, because the subjects also are close to society, history.
