Description:Once More 'round The Sun by Mastodon, released 19 June 2014, includes the following tracks: "High Road", "Chimes At Midnight", "Feast Your Eyes", "Ember City" and more. This version of Once More 'round The Sun comes as a 1xCD. -
2014 release from the Metal monsters. Art is a cyclical beast. The same can easily be said of Grammy Award nominated Hard Rock juggernaut Mastodon. The group's four members recognize the importance of life's omnipresent cycles on their sixth full-length album, ONCE MORE 'ROUND THE SUN. The band orbits around themes of loss and rebirth, twirling a sonic spiral of it's signature robust riffing, hypnotically haunting sound atmospheres, triage of dynamic voices, and thundering seismic grooves. The very title says something slightly different for each member. Quite literally, ONCE MORE 'ROUND THE SUN means a year-in-the-life, explains Dailor. Lyrically, we were discussing things that happened to US recently, whereas in the past we looked further back for inspiration. It's about 365 days in this band. It was a tough and strange journey. We happened to be in the middle of completing a full rotation musically as everything else was going on.

"Once More 'Round The Sun" is the sixth studio album by American heavy metal band Mastodon, released in 2014 on CD format by Reprise Records. This dynamic record showcases Mastodon's signature blend of progressive metal, sludge, and hard rock elements across eleven powerful tracks. With intricate guitar work, thunderous drumming, and thought-provoking lyrics, the album explores themes of life cycles and personal growth. Standout songs like "High Road," "The Motherload," and "Chimes at Midnight" highlight the band's evolution while maintaining their raw intensity. Mastodon has earned critical acclaim for pushing genre boundaries since their formation in 2000; previous albums such as "Leviathan" and "Crack the Skye" have cemented their status as innovators in modern metal. Reprise Records is a renowned label known for supporting groundbreaking artists across genres since its founding by Frank Sinatra in 1960.

HYUNG RAE K. - 28/May/2022 4 of 5 Stars!
The sound Mastodon pursues here draws inspiration from the '70s, without remotely being an exercise in nostalgia. There is one notable exception; it's deliberate and obvious: "The High Road" boasts unapologizing Thin Lizzy worship, albeit ambitiously updated. (Who better?) Its verse/riff structure weds Lynott's rhythmic sensibility to Mastodon's dynamic aggression. The anthemic chorus melody and harmonies, and twinned lead guitar roar, were trademarked by Lizzy's Brian Robertson and Scott Gorham long ago.

After the big delusion of The Hunter, probably the weaker album of this band, Maston are back to their best album to represent their last sound. Far from the genial folly of a Leviathan, OMRTS is a solid heavy metal album with all high quality songs, armoured of catchy refrain and appearently simple melodies. this is the "joke" the band made, offering to their listeners a very dynamic album able to run in your hears like a great chalice of good White wine in your throat.. Welcome back Mastodon.
