 | | 描述: | Originally released in 1975, Ommadawn is a work of great beauty, and like Hergest Ridge before it, established the fact that there was much more to Mike Oldfield than Tubular Bells. The album, with it's new 2010 mix by Oldfield himself, also contains the original demo, thought lost and the perennial Christmas favourite, in Dulce Jubilo. Eugene S. - 2024年 09月 24日 The third studio album by English musician, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Mike Oldfield, released on 31 October 1975. Ommadawn peaked at No. 4 on the UK Albums Chart, No. 74 in Canada,[4] and No. 146 on the US Billboard 200. I recommend.
| | HYUNG RAE K. - 2019年 08月 17日 This is 3rd studio album of mike oldfield. Favorite song is horse back and ommadawn part 1 and 2. especially horseback is very unique song. guitar and chorus was very well mixed.
| | Shi Duan L. - 2017年 09月 01日 The music on this album is one of the most beautiful piece of art I've ever heard in my life. A masterpiece, no doubt.
| | Kevin E. - 2014年 01月 28日 This, not Tubular Bells is Oldfield's best album. It contains everything that is best about Oldfield in the 70's: folk, minimalism and progressive rock all combining into 2 long pieces of music that are heartbreakingly beautiful. Part 1 ends with one of the most surging sustained climaxes anywhere in rock music, thanks to the vocal chanting in gaelic, African drumming and building layers of guitars. Part 2 opens with a beautiful Irish folk passage with Paddy Moloney from the Chieftains guesting and ends with a simple naïve song about horse-riding.
Richard Branson thought this was Oldfield's best album. Prog Archive rates it above T Bells. I agree, it is Oldfield at his most charged and yet his most tender. If you have bought Tubular Bells and are wondering what to get next this is the album to get.
| | Rob Haynes - 2010年 06月 24日 Having lit the financial fuse for Richard Branson's career and sat firmly on the wrong side of the late 70s punk rock wars, there remains a lingering ...
