"Ghostlights" est un album studio captivant du célèbre projet de métal symphonique Avantasia sorti en 2016 au format CD chez Nuclear Blast. Cet opus ambitieux réunit une impressionnante sélection d?invités prestigieux issus de la scène rock et métal internationale tels que Dee Snider (Twisted Sister), Geoff Tate (ex-Queensrÿche) ou encore Michael Kiske (Helloween). L?album séduit par ses mélodies puissantes et accrocheuses ainsi que par son atmosphère théâtrale typique d?Avantasia. Fondé en 1999 par Tobias Sammet, le groupe s?est imposé comme l?un des pionniers du genre grâce à des ?uvres majeures telles que « The Metal Opera » ou « The Mystery of Time », toutes saluées dans les classements mondiaux ! PArt two of a concept album started with the strong previous opus "Mystery of Time". We meet again Aaron and his sould divided between the sharp and comfortable offer of a rational knowledge and the luminous but uncertain light of a vision based on faith, feelings and a more human (less mechanic) approach to "Time". Around this story, a temple of voices, as usual. Lande and Kiske always main pillars of this powerful, rock, surrounding architecture. A strong immediate first half of the disc is followed by a less impressive but at last, made of good inspiration, second half. A mature work, not because of any innovative approach: it's Avantasia, and Sammet is speaking us through a common musical language we all know after so many years. What definitively counts is that we still "feel" it. Recommended!
