"Killing Technology" de Voivod est un album révolutionnaire qui met en avant le mélange novateur du thrash metal et d?éléments progressifs du groupe canadien. Cette édition CD+DVD par Noise Records propose non seulement les morceaux originaux remasterisés mais aussi des contenus vidéo exclusifs sur la création de cet opus influent. Véritable pionnier dans l?expérimentation sonore et lyrique au sein du métal lourd depuis ses débuts au Québec dans les années 80, Voivod s?est illustré avec des disques majeurs comme "Dimension Hatröss" ou "Nothingface", devenant une référence incontournable pour les amateurs de métal avant-gardiste. Le label allemand Noise Records joue un rôle clé dans l?histoire du métal européen depuis 1983 en soutenant des groupes emblématiques tels que Helloween ou Kreator.
Killing Technology could have quietly been a far superiror album than it actually is, but it’s penalized by an amateurish production work that makes all the songs far less catchier than they actually are, so only a very patient listener may be able to detect actual riffs among the whirlpool of ragged sounds present here, something not even the worst recordings of Venom or Motörhead could give an idea about. Simply put, this album seems pretty incomplete, as it is, and the band would have done better things later, but fans may consider it as an ideal starting point. The most recommended cuts here, paradoxically, are the most “brainy”.

This is a monumental album in a perfect reissue. One of the best techno-thrash albums of all the time in a edition with tones of extra things. A must for every Voivod fan!
