 | Descripción: | Deluxe two CD + NTSC/Region 0 DVD edition. Direct from French TV archives this is the first official CD/DVD release to document the giant of British blues on stage and in the television studio. · Charting his musical journey 1967-73, John Mayall performs in both studio and documentary settings as seen through the lens of French television. Rarely seen archive footage presented in top quality - includes his 1973 appearance at the prestigious Newport Jazz Festival. Features performances by such notables as Keef Hartley, Dick Heckstall-Smith and Mick Taylor plus three tracks by Duster Bennett. In the 1960s, John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers took the London music scene by storm. Europe and America soon followed, mesmerised by his own brand of British blues. In these early years, his line-ups included the likes of guitarists Mick Taylor and Freddie Robinson, saxophonist Dick Heckstall-Smith, drummers Keef Hartley and Colin Allen, and violinist Don Sugarcane Harris. Across the channel, music TV in France was broadcasting intelligent, high quality shows and mini documentaries, inviting British and American musicians to perform. John Mayall was a regular guest, and this collection follows his musical journey between 1967 and 1971, including performances in London and the Newport Jazz Festival, captured by the French TV archives, beautifully filmed and produced, and newly remastered.
