Songs wie ?Lady Fantasy? und ?Nimrodel/The Procession/The White Rider? sind zu Klassikern des Genres geworden und zeigen Camels Fähigkeit auf eindrucksvolle Weise musikalische Reisen zu erschaffen.
Camel wurde 1971 gegründet und etablierte sich rasch als eine der führenden Bands im Bereich Progressive Rock. Die Band ist bekannt für ihr instrumentales Können sowie atmosphärisch dichte Klanglandschaften und erhielt viel Lob für Alben wie ?The Snow Goose?, ?Moonmadness? oder eben besonders ?Mirage?. Ihr Einfluss reicht bis heute weit über Genregrenzen hinaus; sie genießen weltweit Kultstatus unter Musikliebhabern.
Das Label Deram Records wurde 1966 als Tochtergesellschaft von Decca gegründet und machte sich schnell einen Namen als Förderer innovativer Künstler der späten Sechziger- und Siebzigerjahre. Unlike the debut album, there are no faded songs at all. Incredibly beautiful melodies of Latimer and Bardens create a magical fairytale atmosphere, and also create in the imagination pictures of nature in all its glory. With such music, you can do without vocals, although in those rare moments where he is, he is quite out of place. The bass player and drummer also play amazingly, and much more varied than many of their colleagues today. It is impossible to highlight something, since there is not a single extra note. The disc is not inferior to the works of other classics of the genre, and in some ways even surpasses them. This is not a meaningless cutting, but an example of (IMHO) how the correct music should sound.
