Description:Nostradamus by Judas Priest, released 12 June 2008, includes the following tracks: "Awakening", "The Four Horsemen", "Sands Of Time", "Death" and more. This version of Nostradamus comes as a 2xCD. -
2008 release by Judas Priest. In the realm of Heavy Metal, there has never been a double disc concept album that has managed to balance a thought-provoking storyline with metallic thunder. Long in the works, Nostradamus takes epic storytelling to a whole new level, as it recounts the life of this mysterious, world-known 16th Century French prophet. Most bands of this high stature would be happy to play it safe. But not Judas Priest, who continue to take chances and break new ground. No other rock band could have pulled off such a grand statement, and Judas Priest have raised the bar once more with Nostradamus.
"Nostradamus" is a concept album by the legendary British heavy metal band Judas Priest, released in 2008 on CD format by Sony Music. This ambitious double album explores the life and prophecies of Michel de Nostredame, better known as Nostradamus, blending powerful riffs with symphonic elements to create an epic musical journey. The record stands out for its theatrical storytelling and innovative soundscapes that push the boundaries of traditional heavy metal. Fans are treated to dramatic tracks like "Prophecy," "Pestilence and Plague," and the title track "Nostradamus." As one of their most experimental works, this album showcases Judas Priest's ability to evolve while staying true to their roots. Judas Priest has been at the forefront of heavy metal since forming in Birmingham in 1969. With iconic albums such as "British Steel," "Screaming for Vengeance," and "Painkiller," they have sold over 50 million records worldwide and influenced countless bands across generations. Known for Rob Halford?s soaring vocals, twin guitar attacks from Glenn Tipton and K.K. Downing, and electrifying live performances, Judas Priest remains a pillar of the genre. Sony Music is one of the world?s leading music companies with a rich history dating back over a century. Renowned for supporting diverse artists across all genres, Sony Music continues to deliver high-quality audio products globally.

Yeah! Judas Priest surprised me! Surprised, so surprised! I, like the first reviewer, was waiting for a creation similar to "Angel", but I got something fundamentally new for the group. As soon as I found out about the conceptual nature of the album, I immediately thought that it would turn out an epic longplay, but I never expected this. I’ll immediately warn the old fans of the group - the classic “Priest” action movies haven’t gone anywhere! Songs such as “Visions”, “Nostradamus”, “Prophecy” will be highly appreciated by the followers of the classical style of Judas Priest. The group managed to merge classic heavy metal, epic symphonic arrangements, singing in Latin (yes, exactly in Latin!), Art rock (listen to the song “War” (6)) and even elements of Spanish music (for Spanish) guitar loss in the song “Revelations” (4) you can immediately put a monument to the group). It turned out to be just a fantastic kneading! From the first listening, of course, you don’t understand the whole depth of the album, only obvious hits are striking, but with the third or fourth listening, you begin to evaluate the whole scale of the genius of the group. I don’t agree about Rob’s addicted vocals, in the songs “Prophecy” (2), “Nostradamus” (22) and, especially, “Alone” (16) he squeals in the best traditions of “Painkiller”. In my opinion, Halford on Nostradamus is a cut above Halford on Angel. Summing up, I can only say one thing - I had the first contender for the title of best album of the year. I sincerely wish the British for many more years of their creative life to please us with at least one more album.
