Yeah! Judas Priest surprised me! Surprised, so surprised! I, like the first reviewer, was waiting for a creation similar to "Angel", but I got something fundamentally new for the group. As soon as I found out about the conceptual nature of the album, I immediately thought that it would turn out an epic longplay, but I never expected this.
I’ll immediately warn the old fans of the group - the classic “Priest” action movies haven’t gone anywhere! Songs such as “Visions”, “Nostradamus”, “Prophecy” will be highly appreciated by the followers of the classical style of Judas Priest. The group managed to merge classic heavy metal, epic symphonic arrangements, singing in Latin (yes, exactly in Latin!), Art rock (listen to the song “War” (6)) and even elements of Spanish music (for Spanish) guitar loss in the song “Revelations” (4) you can immediately put a monument to the group).
It turned out to be just a fantastic kneading! From the first listening, of course, you don’t understand the whole depth of the album, only obvious hits are striking, but with the third or fourth listening, you begin to evaluate the whole scale of the genius of the group.
I don’t agree about Rob’s addicted vocals, in the songs “Prophecy” (2), “Nostradamus” (22) and, especially, “Alone” (16) he squeals in the best traditions of “Painkiller”. In my opinion, Halford on Nostradamus is a cut above Halford on Angel.
Summing up, I can only say one thing - I had the first contender for the title of best album of the year. I sincerely wish the British for many more years of their creative life to please us with at least one more album.
