Eugene S. - 11.12.2024 The eighth studio album by American heavy metal band Savatage, released in 1994. Alex Henderson of AllMusic considered Handful of Rain an excellent album "that is melodic, ambitious, often operatic and consistently absorbing" and the band "impressively consistent". I recommend.
| | Azmi H. - 06.11.2022 It was the band's second album with Zak Stevens on lead vocals and former lead singer Jon Olivia taking a back seat in a new slot covering the roles of composer, piano/keys and live backing vocals. Additionally, he performed bass and drums on this album as the band were in turmoil following founding member (and brother to Jon) Criss Olivia's untimely death.
| | HYUNG RAE K. - 25.04.2020 This is some different sound and composed. I think alex skolnick's playing well went into this album.
| | Alexander S. - 13.09.2019 A really great album from one of my favorite bands. After the tragic death of Kriss Oliva, the group was on the verge of collapse. But brother John decided to continue, and Alex Skolnik, who had "freed" from Testament, also helped. In the end, it’s just a wonderful job, about the style of Edge Of Thorns (93) The first thing, though, falls somewhat out of the general list, but it is also magnificent. This is followed by the standard Savatage, diluted in places with Skolnik's blues chips. Thing Chance - just a super hit for all time, around her, perhaps, the entire album is built. From this album, in my opinion, Savatage began to practice the chip of overlapping several vocal parts, one on top of the other (Chance), a very successful experiment. Well what else can I say, this album must be listened to, at least. By the way, it is interesting that the drum parts here are performed by John Oliva himself.
