"Ocean" is a progressive rock masterpiece by the German band Eloy, released in 1977 and now available on CD from EMI. This concept album takes listeners on an epic journey inspired by the myth of Atlantis, blending atmospheric synthesizers, intricate guitar work, and dynamic rhythms to create a truly immersive soundscape. The four tracks are expansive compositions that showcase Eloy's unique ability to fuse symphonic elements with space rock influences. "Ocean" remains one of Eloy's most celebrated works and is often cited as a highlight within the progressive rock genre.
Eloy was formed in Hannover in 1969 and quickly became one of Germany's leading progressive rock bands. Known for their imaginative concepts and lush instrumentation, they achieved international recognition throughout the 1970s and early '80s with albums like "Silent Cries and Mighty Echoes," "Dawn," and especially "Ocean." Their music has influenced countless artists within prog-rock circles worldwide.

German progressive space rock band Eloy perfected the combination of spacey, atmospheric synthesizer work and a thunderous rhythm section on this 1977 album, which many Eloy fans consider to be their best work.

An excellent conceptual album (released in 1977) from very popular German krautrock band using sci-fi elements in their music and lyrics. A nice remastered edition preserving the specific Eloy sound. Highly recommended!

Aha! And here we have the first full-length album by the already full-grown of a prog-rock group. From structure and conceptuality to performing skills and good lyrics. This album provided a general course for the band to follow for years to come. It is no coincidence that in our times the group released Ocean 2

Easily the best album from Germany's Eloy in my opinion. While the singing might not be to everyone's taste, it is still enjoyable, especially with the awesome music that is going one. Quite a few epics in this one. Highly recommended to anyone who loves space rock!

Progressive-space rock Group. The band's name is borrowed from the science fiction novel by Herbert Uelss "Time Machine". Sixth album, released in 1977. The best period of creativity.

Die deutschen Pink Floyd, einfach genial. Frank Bornemann ist ein genialer Musiker.
