Azmi H. - 2022年 09月 23日 BABYLON is WASP's 14th studio album and it's a good one. To start off, the cover of the cd, with its awesome depiction of the four horseman of the apocalypse, is easily WASP's best (followed by their previous DOMINATOR).
| | Eugene S. - 2022年 07月 19日 The fourteenth studio album by the American heavy metal band. Strong American glam rock with great vocals and virtuoso guitar parts. I recommend.
| | Vladislav M. - 2020年 07月 26日 The persistence of WASP's musical convictions can only be envied.
The band has been scaling high-grade Heavy / Glam for almost 35 years and is at its peak. Bravo Mr. Lawless!
| | Alexander S. - 2020年 01月 16日 This W.A.S.P. Album musically, it looks like a logical continuation of "Dominator" a. At the same time, "Babylon" is much closer in spirit to the classic works of Blackie & Co of the 80s. From the very first chords of the opening Crazy, there are associations with the unforgettable action movie Wild Child. The subsequent material, designed in the corporate style of the group, which is difficult to confuse with someone else, looks quite holistic, although it is certainly 100% predictable. However, this predictability can be forgiven for only one of Blackey’s original voice, which still sounds great.
Out of a small number of new songs, of which there are only seven, the epic "Babylon's Burning" with a powerful drive and a furious chorus is especially notable.
Somewhat surprising is the presence on the honorable 4th place of the cover version of "Burn" - a textbook thriller Deep Purple. I don’t know what made Blackie sing this wonderful, but too famous song. It is possible that, with a certain deficit of her own compositions, she fit perfectly into the album, both musically and in semantic terms. However, the original “Burn” sounds certainly stronger. The second cover, the bored rock and roll "Promised Land" by Chuck Berry, completes the album and is somewhat out of the rest of the musical series. Although, perhaps, for Blackie, the semantic component is more important here.
W.A.S.P. released another high-quality album that does not open new horizons, but takes its leader with its professionalism and charisma, fits into the classic 45 minutes (another good tradition along with the frequency of album releases) and is listened in one breath.
