"Asleep In The Back" ist das gefeierte Debütalbum der britischen Alternative-Rock-Band Elbow und erschien 2001 im CD-Format bei Mercury Records. Das Album präsentiert den charakteristischen Sound von Elbow ? eine atmosphärische Mischung aus Rock mit komplexen Arrangements und poetischen Texten unter der markanten Stimme von Sänger Guy Garvey. Songs wie ?Newborn?, ?Red? oder der Titelsong machten die Band schnell zu einer festen Größe in der modernen britischen Musikszene. This first album, deserves much more than all debuts. The lines/lyrics are quite obvious and not difficult, emotional but this sort of alternative rock/pop was new than and is new now.
